About Us

In 2002 when Fr John Glynn, an Irish Catholic Priest began trying to assist orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable young women and children on the streets and in the settlements of Port Moresby in Papua New Guinea. It was funded informally and minimally by family and friends of Fr John

The basic operating principle is that the problems of orphaned, abandoned, neglected and abused children and young people at risk are community and family problems and require community and family based solutions

WeCare PNG was officially formed as a registered and tax exempt charity in 2007 and an office was established in the school grounds of the La Sallian Hohola Youth Development Centre.

The basic operating principle is that the problems of orphaned, abandoned, neglected and abused children and young people at risk are community and family problems and require community and family based solutions

As more and more disabled people living in desperately poor conditions, often in dysfunctional families are found, WeCARe! wants to develop a program that will give them care and hope for a brighter future as well as offer training and a future to vulnerable young able-bodied women in the community.  It is extremely difficult for the disabled to travel anywhere in Port Moresby and invariably they do not have the knowledge on where to go or who can help them.
