The Foundation for Women and Children at Risk (WeCaRe) in Port Moresby has received a generous donation of K300,000 from Ok Tedi Mining Limited (OTML).
This funding will enhance WeCaRe’s services, including early childhood development, education, women’s desk programs, and support for individuals with special needs and those living with HIV and AIDS.
Established in 2007, WeCaRe aims to provide hope to young girls, vulnerable women, and children facing poverty and malnutrition.
Founder and Patron, Father John Glynn expressed gratitude, stating, “With your support, we can do what we are doing now.”
He also praised OTML’s commitment to supporting those most in need and shared his vision of establishing a training centre to educate young people to assist the less fortunate.
OTML’s Manager of Corporate Affairs, Dexter Wagambie, who presented the cheque commended WeCaRe’s dedication to aiding the disadvantaged.
He reaffirmed OTML’s commitment to supporting initiatives that improve the livelihoods of Papua New Guineans, noting previous contributions to organisations such as Cheshire Homes in Port Moresby and Catholic Callan Services in Kiunga.
Ok Tedi Mining Limited, a 100 percent PNG-owned company, continues to demonstrate its dedication to delivering value to its stakeholders and supporting community-beneficial initiatives across the nation.
