In response to the alarming rise in deaths related to cervical and breast cancer within our communities, WeCARe Foundation has joined forces with Marie Stopes PNG to promote Sexual Reproductive Health and Family Planning awareness.
We recently visited four care groups: 9 Mile Pisago Group, 9 Mile Mt Zion Group, Taurama, and Joyce Bay. The sessions saw great engagement from the community, including both young women and men, who participated actively and asked insightful questions at the end. The awareness sessions were well-received, with many attendees expressing that the information was highly valuable, enabling them to make more informed decisions regarding their health.
Several communities have requested that Marie Stopes return with their mobile clinic to provide free health services for those in need.
A total of 136 participants attended the awareness sessions across the four locations. Below is a breakdown of the participant data:
No. | Date | Location | Male | Female | Comments |
