We are pleased to have officially launched our website this month. WeCARe Foundation.

WeCARe! Foundation is a local NGO providing care and support for Women and Children at Risk in Port Moresby. The foundation started in 2007 and have operated in Port Moresby for over 10 years supporting women and children.

The organization is a charity NGO and have operated with donations and supports it received. “Some of the organizations and individuals who have supported us are Digicel Foundation, PWC, Exxon Mobil, Monian PNG Ltd, JP McManus, De La Salle brothers, Michael Brosnan and Roy & Joan Smith” said Josephine. “There are also other individuals and groups who have contributed in cash or kind towards our programs”.

WeCARe Foundation is headed by Ms Jospehine Dromenge and supported by four other staff. Based in a small office at La Salle Technical College, Hohola, the Foundation runs four main programs within Port Moresby and Lae. These are, Early Childhood Learning Centers, Women Empowerment, Special Needs (people with HIV/AIDS and disAbility) and Education Support program. The organization have partnered with individuals and groups in the past and current; including Digicel Foundation,Word Vision PNG, ChildFund PNG, Medecins Sans Frontieres,  Ginigoada Foundation, Cheshire disAbility center and Rosary Sisters (Lae) to run the community programs targeting women and children. In 2018, a group of Catholic nuns have asked WeCARe to support them in Lae, Morobe Province. This is part of the way forward to expand the program across PNG.

“We are delighted to have a website of our own to increase our public diplomacy and to tell the nation and the world about our work in the settlement communities”. “This is the step forward to increase our public image and also to share our stories with the rest of PNG communities” she said. This website is important to WeCARe! Foundation as it is a not for profit organization as it will help WeCARe to share its stories with PNG communities. The website is an initiative of e-Lojiks Information Services, a local freelancing service based in Port Moresby. WeCARe Foundation is deeply grateful that e-Lojiks Information services have used their own resources and services to promote the work of WeCARe by setting up this website.
